Key functionalities include voltage acquisition, high-current active balancing, overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, over-temperature protection, coulomb metering, Bluetooth communication, and optional GPS and heating functions. This BMS is compatible with various battery chemistries such as lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo4), ternary lithium (Li-ion), and lithium titanate (LTO) batteries.

The active balancing technology, with independent intellectual property rights, achieves a continuous balance current of 1A or 2A, significantly improving battery consistency, extending battery range, and delaying aging. The compact design, ease of operation, and full functionality make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including small sightseeing vehicles, mobility scooters, shared cars, high-power energy storage, base station backup power supplies, and solar power stations.

5. Operation Instructions

5.1. APP Installation and Initial Setup

  1. **Download APP:**
    • **iOS:** Search "JIKONG BMS" in the APP Store.
    • **Android:** Search "JK BMS" in the Google Store. (Android Version 7 minimum is required).

  2. **Hardware Connection:** Connect the protection board and battery pack according to the wiring diagram (Figure 10). Ensure the last power cord is connected to the main positive pole. The total battery pack voltage must be greater than 20V (Default BMS) or 10V (4S BMS) before startup.
  3. **BMS Activation:** Use the display activation button or an additional switch to activate the BMS. Alternatively, connect a charger (charger voltage > battery voltage by 2V) to activate the BMS.
  4. **Connect via APP:**

  5. **Parameter Setting (First Start-up):**

  6. **Check Battery Status:** After setting parameters, return to the real-time status page. Verify that there are no error messages and that the battery status is normal. Blue indicates the highest voltage, red indicates the lowest voltage.

5.2. Key Functions and Usage

Users can set the balance trigger pressure difference (mV) in the APP. The default balance current is 1A/2A. It is recommended that the balance current does not exceed 0.2C of the battery capacity. If your BMS model includes the "Heat" function, it supports an optional heating feature for low-temperature environments. This prevents reduced battery activity and ensures proper charging/discharging. The heating current is 20A. Users can control this function via the APP. It is recommended to use a normally closed temperature switch (45°C to 65°C) in series with the heating circuit for secondary protection.

  • **Heating on Condition:**
    1. Battery temperature is lower than the low-temperature protection temperature for charge.
    2. Connecting a heating film will activate heating via the APP, consuming battery power.
    3. Heating through the charger is related to the protection board hardware and charger. Confirm technical status before ordering.

Alarm Function (Optional)

The BMS can be configured with an alarm function to alert users to safety risks such as over-temperature, overcharge, or over-discharge conditions.

Battery Pack Parallel Function (Optional)

For energy storage applications, the BMS supports parallel battery pack functionality. This requires synchronous use with parallel modules and disabling the "charging current limiting" function in the APP.

ACC Detection Function (Optional)

This function enables discharge and can be implemented by applying a voltage (20V-100V) between ACC+ and ACC- or by short-circuiting them. A charger detection function (C_detect+ and C_detect-) is also available for enabling charging, connecting to the 12V voltage signal output of the charger.

Communication Functions (Optional)

The BMS supports optional CAN and RS485 communication. Users can select these options via the APP's BMS control page. Address and communication protocol can be configured based on requirements. Refer to the Jikong Protection Board Communication Protocol document for details.

Intelligent Sleep

The intelligent sleep function is standard. It allows the BMS to enter a low-power standby state (charging/discharging current less than 1A for 26 consecutive hours) to reduce self-consumption. The BMS can be reactivated by pressing a button or connecting a charger.

6. Mantenimentu

Regular maintenance of your JIKONG Smart BMS ensures optimal performance and longevity of your battery system.

  • **Firmware Updates:** Check the JIKONG official website or APP for any available firmware updates to ensure your BMS has the latest features and bug fixes.
  • **Connection Integrity:** Periodically inspect all wiring connections, especially the balance cables and main power connections (B- and P-), for any signs of corrosion, looseness, or damage. Secure any loose connections.
  • **Environmental Conditions:** Ensure the BMS operates within its specified temperature range (-30°C to 70°C). Avoid exposing the unit to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • **Cleaning:** Keep the BMS unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • **Battery Health Monitoring:** Regularly monitor battery cell voltages and overall pack health via the mobile APP. Address any significant cell imbalances promptly.
