Introduzione
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Ecolink Z-Wave Tilt Sensor (TILT-ZWAVE2-ECO). This device is designed to monitor the tilt status of objects, primarily garage doors, and communicate this status wirelessly via Z-Wave technology to a compatible smart home hub. Ensure you read these instructions thoroughly before installation and use.

Istituisci
1. Installazione di batterie
- Remove the back cover of the sensor by gently prying it open or sliding it off, depending on the model.
- Insert the included CR123 lithium battery, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the back cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place. The sensor's LED may flash briefly to indicate power.
2. Z-Wave Inclusion (Pairing)
To integrate the sensor into your Z-Wave network, follow these steps:
- Place your Z-Wave hub into inclusion (pairing) mode. Refer to your hub's instruction manual for specific steps.
- With the sensor powered on, press the tamper switch (located inside the sensor, often a small button or lever) once. The sensor's LED will flash to indicate it is attempting to pair.
- If inclusion is successful, the LED will stop flashing, and your Z-Wave hub should confirm the new device.
- If inclusion fails, the LED may flash rapidly or remain off. Try repeating the process or performing an exclusion first.
3. Z-Wave Exclusion (Unpairing)
To remove the sensor from your Z-Wave network:
- Place your Z-Wave hub into exclusion (unpairing) mode. Refer to your hub's instruction manual for specific steps.
- Press u tamper switch on the sensor once. The sensor's LED will flash to indicate it is attempting to unpair.
- If exclusion is successful, the LED will stop flashing, and your Z-Wave hub should confirm the device has been removed.
4. Muntatura di u Sensore
The sensor can be mounted using screws or double-sided adhesive tape. For garage doors, mount the sensor on the top panel of the garage door, ensuring it changes orientation (tilts) when the door opens or closes.
- Locu: Choose a location on the top panel of the garage door where the sensor will clearly tilt when the door moves.
- Montaggio adesivo: Clean the mounting surface thoroughly. Apply the double-sided adhesive tape to the back of the sensor or mounting bracket and firmly press it onto the desired location for at least 30 seconds.
- Montaggio à viti: Use the included mounting bracket as a template. Mark the screw holes, drill pilot holes if necessary, and secure the bracket with the provided screws. Attach the sensor to the bracket. For added security, a small security screw may be used to fasten the sensor to the bracket (refer to the sensor's internal design for the security screw location).
- Orientazione: Ensure the sensor is mounted in an orientation where its internal tilt mechanism can accurately detect the open and closed states of the garage door. Typically, this means mounting it vertically when the door is closed, so it becomes horizontal when the door is open.
Istruzzioni di funziunamentu
Rilevazione di Tilt
The Ecolink Z-Wave Tilt Sensor detects changes in its physical orientation. When mounted correctly on a garage door, it will report an "open" status to your Z-Wave hub when the door is open (sensor is horizontal) and a "closed" status when the door is closed (sensor is vertical). This status is communicated wirelessly to your Z-Wave network, allowing for automation and notifications.
External Contact Input
The sensor includes an external contact input. This allows you to connect a separate wired normally-closed (NC) or normally-open (NO) contact sensor (e.g., a magnetic reed switch) to the tilt sensor. When the external contact changes state, the tilt sensor will report this status to your Z-Wave hub. This feature can be used for monitoring a secondary point or for applications where a tilt sensor is not suitable.
- To use the external input, connect the two wires from your external contact sensor to the designated terminals inside the Ecolink Tilt Sensor.
- Refer to your Z-Wave hub's documentation for configuring how the external input reports its status.
Mantenimentu
Sustituzione di batterie
The Ecolink Z-Wave Tilt Sensor uses one CR123 lithium battery. When the battery level is low, your Z-Wave hub should report a low battery warning. To replace the battery:
- Remove the sensor from its mounting bracket or detach it from the adhesive.
- Open the back cover of the sensor.
- Eliminate cù cura a vechja batteria CR123.
- Insert a new CR123 lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace the back cover and re-mount the sensor.
- It may be necessary to wake up the sensor or refresh its status on your Z-Wave hub after battery replacement to update the battery level.
Nota: Smaltite e batterie vechje secondu e regulazioni lucali.
